Harry Potter star Emma Watson, 19, was The Late Show last night. She was funny, personable and warm, and she reminds me of Natalie Portman in terms of how classy, smart and normal she seems. She mentioned that she’s going to college but didn’t say exactly where except for the fact that she’s coming to the states and will be studying liberal arts. She said she’s indecisive and doesn’t know what she’ll major in, but “maybe English or maybe art.” You can’t blame her for not mentioning where she’ll be going to school, but we’re sure to find out soon enough. I bet she’s headed to an ivy league school like Yale, Harvard or Princeton.

Watson said she recently got her driver’s license and that she learned how to drive on a hybrid that was an automatic, having given up on trying to learn how to drive a manual transmission.

Dave showed a photo of Watson at the premiere in which she accidentally opened her wrap dress to show her nude-colored underwear. She explained “This was a small wardrobe malfunction… I don’t remember when this happened. At least I’m wearing underwear.”

She looked slightly embarrassed, but seemed to be taking it well and said “I’m still learning.”

Emma told Dave she’s still working on the Harry Potter series and that they haven’t come up with the name yet for the seventh and eighth films, which are based on the seventh book split into two parts.

Dave asked “Are you still enjoying the project?”

“No I hate it. [straight-faced, then laughs]

“I’m still having a really good time.”

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is out July 15.
